Want to try machine embroidery, or learn a new way to use the machine you already have? Ever heard of "In The Hoop" projects? This technique allows you to make all sorts of projects with little to no sewing, right in your embroidery hoop! Use one of our machines or bring your own.

To kick off our monthly machine embroidery club, we will be making this great pin cushion. All supplies are provided, though you may choose to bring your own fabric and threads.

This club series is perfect for anyone who's interested in strengthening their machine embroidery skills or simply wants to meet some friends and have fun! Stay tuned for future classes that will feature fun and easy projects. Please make sure your machine is in working order beforehand, as there won't be time to service the machine during class. Please arrive 15-minutes prior to class time to get set up, especially if bringing your own machine.

Materials and equipment:

Small sharp scissors.

We will provide fabric from our supply of batting and recycled denim at no cost to you. If using your own fabric, quilting cotton, denim, felt, and lightweight canvas all work well. You will need two pieces of fabric at least 6" x 6". Great way to use up your stash.

If bringing your own thread, Isacord is recommended. Use as many colors as you want (see photo).

If you bring your own machine, you will need:

New machine embroidery needles, size 75/11

Embroidery machine with hoop, at least 4" x 4" (10cm x 10cm), and one bobbin. The larger your hoop, the larger you can make your pin cushion.

USB stick for transferring your design.

We will provide the design, embroidery thread, bobbin thread, batting, stabilizer, and filling.
